Well, that time you never think will happen has finally come. With baby number 3 born in October, a planned remodeling of our house, and the realization that I won't be driving this Jeep at all for the next 6-9 months with the new baby and construction - I've decided to sell the Scrambler that I never planned on selling. Just too hard to justify all the money tied up in it while it sits parked in the carport.

I bought this Jeep bone stock in September 2001 from a guy who owned it for the last 16 years, and it had 88k miles on it. Now 6 years later it has 94k miles on it, and I've driven it less and less every year. I know I'll have another Jeep in 2-3 years, but I know I need to sell this one at this point in life(ahh..). This Jeep runs great and drives smooth down the highway - I wouldn't hesitate to drive this anywhere. I usually drive it less than once per month on sunny days, but I did drive it on a 250 mile trip a couple of months back. You can let go of the steering wheel going 70mph down the highway and it tracks straight as it should, no wobble or imbalance at speed.

With ARBs and the 4:1 gears in the transfer case, this Jeep really works great on the road and in the woods. Just shift into high-range and unlock the ARBs for easy driving on the street. I've built this Jeep up the way I wanted it - lightweight and reliable. From the small details like short shackles, proper bumpstops, factory Jeep motor mounts, tie rod ends(no heim joints), and fully pneumatic ARB switches to larger items like CTM joints and Warn axles, I've tried to consistently use the proper parts that have met my desires in a Jeep. You may have different plans though - throw a back seat and full soft top on it and drive it every day!

Disclosure:
  • Original dash lights don't work - I haven't driven this enough at night to worry about it
  • Original temp and fuel gauges work "most" of the time
  • Original fender flares are worn out - I have trimmed them to make room for the tires, but the Jeep would look much better with a new set
  • Windshield frame will leak water into the cab if driven in the rain for 5-10 minutes - Been this way since I've owned it, but I don't drive the Jeep in the rain on purpose
  • Windshield glass is cracked top to bottom, but hasn't ever bothered me - been this way since I've owned it
  • Swing out spare tire mount will need a spacer to allow for the step in the rear bumper - I usually just keep the spare in the bed
  • Transmission is still not a speed shifter even with the new gears and synchro rings - it's quiet though
  • I don't think the paint is quite as good as the pictures make it seem - it's a 24 year old paint job, and it has several nicks and scratches

I want to be sure everyone has all the info they need - please feel free to contact me, and I'll be glad to cover any details, take more pics, etc. I want to be sure the next owner is as happy with it as I've been. Thanks.
